Ice Hockey Australia (IHA) have announced the renaming of the Women’s National Championship to the Stephanie Boxall National Women’s Championship. The decision to rename the tournament was put forward by the National Championships Committee and approved by the IHA’s Board of Directors. The tournament’s new name honours Stephanie Boxall, a founding member and former captain of the Australian women’s national team and a two-time winner of the McKowen Trophy. The 2023 Stephanie Boxall National Women’s Championship is set to be held from 20 April to 23 April at the Cockburn Ice Arena in Bibra Lake, Western Australia.
