Australians overseas 2022–23: Austria

With the 2022–23 season having finished in the Northern Hemisphere we thought we would take a brief look at the Australian players who were competing overseas. Today features Australians in Austria.

Thomas Garas: First season in Austria. Playing for the Okanagan Hockey Academy’s White under-17 team in the ÖEHV U17 Meisterschaft Garas competed in 26 games and recorded 23 points. He also made a brief one game apperance for Okanagan’s Europe under-18 team in the ÖEHV U18 International.

Andrew MacWilliam: First season in Austria after spending the previous two in Germany. Playing for EC Red Bull Salzburg in the ICE Hockey League he recorded eleven points and a +21 plus/minus in 58 games. MacWilliam also competed in eight games in the Champions Hockey League before Salzburg was knocked out in the Round of 16 by Rögle BK. On 7 June MacWilliam signed with German club EHC Red Bull München for 2023–24 DEL season.
