Australians overseas 2022–23: United Kingdom (part 1)

Continuing our look at the Australian players who were competing overseas during the 2022–23 season. Today is Part 1 of 2 featuring Australians in the United Kingdom.

Anna Badaoui: First season in the United Kingdom. Playing for the Solihull Vixens in the Elite Division of the Women’s National Ice Hockey League Badaoui competed in 17 games, recording five goals and an assist.

Ethan Chan: First season in the United Kingdom. Playing for the Northumbria Kings in the British Universities Ice Hockey Association Chan recorded two assists in his seven games.

James Downie: Second season with the Manchester Storm. Playing in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) Downie posted a 0.885 save percentage and a 3.27 goals against average from four games. He also made two appearances for Manchester in the EIHL Cup where he recorded 0.875 save percentage and a 3.00 goals against average. During the season Downie was also loaned out for a game with the Bees IHC of the National Ice Hockey League’s National Division.

Jason Ikin: First season with the Oxford Rising Stars. Playing in Division 2 of the National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) Ikin recorded a goal and five assists in his 15 games. He also made a further eight appearances for Oxford in the NIHL’s Division 2 South Cup where he recorded three assists.
