The Melbourne Ducks have lost 0–15 to the Melbourne Ice in their opening game of the 2023–24 Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League (AWIHL) Exhibition Series. The match was the first in the six-game exhibition series which are being played as part of the Melbourne Ducks’ bid to enter the Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League. Competition resumes on 21 October with the Melbourne Ducks again hosting the Melbourne Ice at iceHQ for game two of the series.
