2024 Women’s U18 World Championships: Australia loses opener to Norway

The Australian women’s national under-18 team have lost 0–15 to the Norwegian women’s national under-18 team in their opening game of the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship Division I Group B tournament in Jaca, Spain. The IIHF award for best Australian player of the match was given to forward Natasha Dube.

In the other games of the day Poland defeated South Korea 4–2 and Spain shutout Chinese Taipei 15–0. At the end of the first round Australia sits at the bottom of the standings while Norway leads with three points. Australia takes on Spain today for their second game of the tournament. The two teams last met at the 2022 World Championships where Spain won 4–1.
