2024 Women’s U18 World Championships: Australia loses to Spain

The Australian women’s national under-18 team have lost 0–9 to the Spanish women’s national under-18 team in their second game of the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship Division I Group B tournament in Jaca, Spain. The IIHF award for best Australian player of the match was given to defender Gabrielle Arps.

In the other games of the day Norway defeated South Korea 6–1 and Poland beat Chinese Taipei 9–2. At the end of the second round Australia remains at the bottom of the standings while Spain moves into first place with six points, dropping Norway to second. The teams have a rest day today and return on 11 January where Australia will take on South Korea for their third game of the competition. The two teams last met at the 2019 World Championships where South Korea won 5–2.
