The Australian men’s national team have defeated New Zealand 5–2 in the third game of the 2024 Trans-Tasman Ice Hockey Challenge at the O’Brien Icehouse. New Zealand took the lead early in the first with a powerplay goal from Colin McIntosh before Australia responded with a goal from Casey Kubara. New Zealand then scored again with a goal from Dylan Devlin to regain the lead heading into the break. In the second period Australia tied the game up with a powerplay goal from Kieren Webster. The third period was then dominated by the Australian team with goals from Jamie Woodman and Vadim Virjassov before Cameron Todd scored an empty netter to close out the game. Australia wins the series two games to one having won the first game 3–2 in overtime and lost the second 1–2 in overtime.
