Central Coast Rhinos defeat Newcastle Northstars in second exhibition game

The Central Coast Rhinos have defeated the Newcastle Northstars 3–2 following overtime in their exhibition game at the Erina Ice Arena. After a scoreless first period the Rhinos opened the scoring five minutes into the second before the Northstars responded with two of their own to head into the break with a one-goal lead. The Northstars were able to hold onto their lead until the final two minutes of the third period before the Rhinos responded to tie the game up and force overtime. Connor Wardlaw then scored a powerplay goal for the Rhinos two minutes into overtime to win the match. The Rhinos win the series two games to nil after defeating the Northstars 8–3 in last week’s game.
