The Sydney Bears have announced the re-signing of James Downie and Tim Newmark for the upcoming 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) season.
Goaltender James Downie played five games for the club in 2023, recording a save percentage of 0.868 and a 3.53 goals against average. Since making his league debut in 2015 he has competed in 51 AIHL games, averaging a save percentage of 0.874 and a goals against average of 4.55.
Forward Tim Newmark played 21 games for the Bears in 2023, scoring eight goals and seven assists. Since making his league debut in 2014 he has competed in 85 AIHL games and recorded 66 points.
