The Brisbane Lightning have announced the signing of Mongolian-Russian forward Batu Gendunov Batorovich for the 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Gendunov spent 2023–24 playing for Darkhan in the Mongolia Hockey League where he scored 31 goals and 26 assists from 12 games.
Between 2016 and 2024 Gendunov has spent time playing in the Molodyozhnaya Hokkeinaya Liga, Mongolia Hockey League, Russian Student Hockey League, and Vysshaya Hokkeinaya Liga. He also recently made his debut for the Mongolian men’s national team at the 2024 World Championships where he recorded twelve points from three games and helped the team earn promotion Division IV to Division III Group B.
