The Melbourne Ice have re-signed goaltender Michael James for the 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) season. James played twelve games for the Ice in 2023, recording a save percentage of 0.857 and a 5.44 goals against average. Since making his league debut in 2011 he has competed in 82 AIHL games and averages a save percentage 0.874. More recently James has been playing for the Bison IHC in the 2024 Ice Hockey Victoria Premier League season where he has a 0.895 save percentage from six games.
