Day 39 of the 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League regular season has finished with wins for the Brisbane Lightning, Canberra Brave, Melbourne Ice, and Sydney Ice Dogs. In the Hellyer Conference, the Sydney Bears remain in first place with a nine-point lead over the Melbourne Ice in second. In the Rurak Conference, the Newcastle Northstars remain at the top of the standings, two points clear of the second placed Canberra Brave. The Sydney Bears also continue to lead the league’s combined standings with the Melbourne Ice in second and the Perth Thunder in third. Competition resumes on 28 July with games in Melbourne, Newcastle, and Sydney.
Today’s match between the Adelaide Adrenaline and Sydney Ice Dogs also served as the Adrenaline’s Alumni Night which saw the club celebrate former Adelaide Avalanche and Adrenaline players. The Adrenaline also wore a retro jersey during the game which featured an adapted version of the Avalanche’s yeti logo.
