Day 40 of the 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League regular season has finished with wins for the Melbourne Mustangs, Newcastle Northstars, and Sydney Ice Dogs. Following today’s results, Perth Thunder are the fifth team to qualify for the 2024 Goodall Cup playoffs joining Canberra Brave, Melbourne Ice, Newcastle Northstars, and Sydney Bears.
In the Hellyer Conference, the Sydney Bears remain in first place with a nine-point lead over the Melbourne Ice in second. In the Rurak Conference, the Newcastle Northstars remain at the top of the standings, five points clear of the second placed Canberra Brave. The Sydney Bears also continue to lead the league’s combined standings with the Melbourne Ice in second and the Perth Thunder in third. Competition resumes on 3 August with games in Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, and Perth.
