The Newcastle Northstars have defeated the Central Coast Rhinos 7–2 in their exhibition game at Hunter Ice Skating Stadium. The match was the second of two preseason games for Newcastle, after playing their first game yesterday against Central Coast. For Central Coast, it was the final match of three preseason games, having played one game against the Sydney Ice Dogs in March and two against Newcastle.
