The Australian Ice Hockey League have announced changes to the competition points for Perth Thunder, Sydney Bears, and the Sydney Ice Dogs.
The change to the points for Perth Thunder and the Sydney Bears follows a review on the decision to cancel their previously postponed game from 1 August. The review changes the points allocated to each team from 1.5 points to 1.0 point. The amendment has been made to bring the decision in line with the league’s competition regulations.
For the Sydney Ice Dogs, the league has deducted two points following a breach of competition regulations. The team is said to have fielded unregistered team officials on three occasions and had been warned by the league in July regarding a previous breach. The Sydney Ice Dogs have released a statement regarding the penalty, stating that they will challenge the decision.
