– The Ice have announced the signing of goaltender James Downie for the 2018 season. Downie has spent the last three seasons playing for the Sydney Bears and is currently in North America playing for playing for Meijer AAA Hockey. – The Mustangs have announced the signing of Maxime Langelier-Parent as head coach for the upcoming 2018 season. Langelier-Parent joined the club last season as an import player, recording 36 points in 18 games, and also served as an assistant coach for part of the season while out with injury. The Melbourne Mustangs have announced the promotion of Michael Flaherty to the head coach position for the upcoming 2016 season. Flaherty was an assistant coach to the recently departed Brad Vigon last season and has previous coaching experience in the AJIHL and as an assistant coach for the Finnish national inline hockey team. Assisting Flaherty will be Jon Moses and Damian Holland, both former representatives of the Australian national team.
Front Office changes will see Myles Harris take over the position of Vice President from Andrew McDowell as he steps down to focus on the position of Director of Hockey Operations. The Mustangs also announced the appointment of Hamish Jones to the position of Marketing Manager.
The Melbourne Mustangs have announced the assistant coach Mark Connolly has stepped down from his position citing the need for a rest from the high demand of the AIHL. Connolly has been replaced by Michael Flaherty who is the current head coach of the AJIHL’s Melbourne Whalers and the Saints-Monarchs Premier A team. The team also announced the current head coach Brad Vigon has re-signed for the 2015 season.
Ice Hockey Victoria have announced the Melbourne Whalers and Melbourne Glaciers rosters for the upcoming 2014-15 Australian Junior Ice Hockey League season. They have also confirmed the coaches with Michael Flaherty and Jeremy Muir to coach the Whalers, and Doug Stevenson and Joseph Hughes to coach the Glaciers.
