Australian men’s roster for the 2023 World Championships

Ice Hockey Australia have released the roster for the Australian men’s national team for the upcoming 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division II Group A tournament. The competition will take place from 16 April to 22 April 2023 in Madrid, Spain with Australia competing against Croatia, Georgia, Iceland, Israel and Spain.

In preparation for the tournament the team will play the New Zealand men’s national team in the 2023 Trans-Tasman Clash, a three-game series being held from 10 March to 12 March 2023 at Paradice Botany in Auckland. Reserve players Ellesse Carini, Jakob Doornbos and Shannon McGregor are expected to compete in this series.

Changes to the roster from the last World Championships in 2019 sees the debut of Andreas Camenzind, Mackenzie Caruana, John Kennedy, Bayley Kubara, Tomas Landa, Lynden Lodge, Liam Manwarring, Tim Newmark and Daniel Pataky. Casey Kubara and Shannon McGregor return to the team having last competed at the World Championships in 2015.

Players dropped after competing in 2019 include Matt Armstrong, Jason Baclig, Zachary Boyle, Jack Carpenter, Tyerell Clare, Brian Funes, Mat Lindsay, Michael McMahon, Thomas Powell, Josef Rezek, Chris Wong.
