As reported by Hewitt Sports, Newcastle North Stars defenceman David Ferrari is set to return for the start of the 2014 season. Ferrari sat out the entire 2013 season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament while playing ice hockey in Calgary, Alberta. During the 2013 season Ferrari was signed by the North Stars as an assistant coach and set up the North Stars Academy, along with team mate John Kennedy, a program created to help develop future talent for the team.
