New team to be created in Canberra

The Canberra Times have announced that if Canberra consortium is successful in acquiring the AIHL license, the team will not be known as the Knights if they re-enter the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL). This comes after the Knights owner announced his intentions of wanting to retain the clubs license for future use and has suggested that should the consortium wish to use the Knights trademark he would require compensation for the brand’s value. Fans have already started floating suggestions such as the Capitals, Kings and Wolves.

The consortium has currently raised over $22,000 of their $50,000 goal and will speak with the AIHL on Monday to determine if they have met the leagues requirements.
