In the only game of the day the the Melbourne Whalers have defeated the Perth Pelicans 5-3 to advance to the final tomorrow against the Sydney Sabres.
The final series are being held in Melbourne over the weekend, 7 to 8 March, at the Medibank Icehouse. The Sydney Sabres advanced straight to the grand final as they finished highest in the regular season standings between the three finalists. The Whalers and Pelicans had to playoff in the first final held today for the right to play in the grand final. The grand final will be held tomorrow at 15:45 AEST.
