The Australian women’s team have lost their final game of the 2015 IIHF Women’s World Championship Division II Group B tournament, losing to Slovenia 1-5. Katherine McOnie was named best Australian player of the match and Stephanie Newmark was named the best Australian player of the tournament. In other games of the day Belgium defeated Iceland 3-2 in overtime and Mexico beat Spain 3-2. Australia finished the tournament in fifth place, six points behind leaders Slovenia who earned promotion to Division II Group A for 2016. Belgium was relegated to Division II Qualification for 2016 after finishing in last place.
