Australian Women rejoin World Championships following location change

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has announced that the upcoming 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II Group B will be moved from Ankara, Turkey to Spain following an agreement by the six original countries scheduled to compete. Ice Hockey Australia had earlier withdrawn the Women’s team from the tournament over safety concerns however they will now field a team following the change of location. The decision to rejoin the World Championships also means that the planned Tour of Canada has now been cancelled. Dates and a host city for the re-scheduled tournament have yet to be confirmed by the IIHF.
