The Australian women’s national team have won their second game of the 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II Group B tournament, defeating New Zealand 12-1. Forward Sharna Godfrey was named best Australia player of the match. In other games of the day Mexico defeated Turkey 6-1 and Spain beat Iceland 3-2. After the end of the third round Australia is sitting in second place, trailing the leaders Spain by two points. The teams have a rest day today and return to the ice on Saturday with Australia taking on Spain today in their fourth game of the tournament.
