The Australian men’s national team have beat Serbia 5-4 in a shootout in their fourth game of the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division II Group A tournament. Forward Thomas Powell was named best Australian player of the game. In other games of the day China defeated Iceland 3-1 and the Netherlands beat Belgium 10-2. Australia remains second in the standings while the Netherlands lead with twelve points. Australia takes on the Netherlands today for their final game of the tournament. The last time these two teams met was at the 2012 World Championship Division I Group B tournament where Australia lost 2-6.
