The Australian men’s national team have defeated China 3-2 in their fourth game of the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division II Group A tournament. Defenceman Brian Funes was named best Australian player of the game. In other games of the day Croatia beat Spain 4-3 in a shootout and Serbia defeated Belgium 6-3. After the fourth round Australia remain first on the standings with Serbia moving into second place. The teams have a rest day today and return on Monday where Australia take on Croatia for their final game of the tournament. The last time these two teams met was at the 2013 World Championships Division II Group A tournament where Australia lost 1-3.
