The Australian Junior Ice Hockey League have released the schedule for November and December of the upcoming 2019-20 AJIHL season. The Melbourne Glaciers have also released their complete season schedule which reveals some further details. The season which kicks off on 17 November appears to have changed format from last season. Prior to this season teams were aligned in either a Northern or Southern division. Teams would play their conference opponents in six games and opponents from the opposing conference in one game only. For 2019-20 however it now appears that the division system has been abandoned with each team playing their opponent in three games during the regular season. All three games will be held over one weekend in either a home or away series.
The 2020 AJIHL playoffs will be held on 7 and 8 March at the O’Brien Icehouse. The qualifying finals have been removed from the playoff format with only the top four teams from the regular season competing. Both semifinals will be held on 7 March followed by a third place game and the grand final on 8 March.
