The Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League have announced that the 12 January game between the Melbourne Ice and Perth Inferno will be treated as a tie instead of an overtime win to the Perth Inferno. The decision comes after the game progressed to a 3-on-3 overtime instead of a shootout which goes against league rules. Perth won the game and was initially awarded two points and the Ice one point. As a result each team will receive one point each, dropping the Inferno’s total points for the season to one.
