2020 U20 World Championships: Australia defeat Turkey

The Australian men’s national under-20 team have defeated Turkey 3-2 in their third game of the 2020 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division III tournament. Defenceman Arthur Wang was named best Australian player of the match. In other games of the day South Africa defeated Chinese Taipei 5-3, Iceland beat New Zealand 10-1 and Mexico picked up a 5-2 win over Bulgaria. Australia finish the preliminary round at the top of the Group B standings and Iceland finishes at the top of Group A. Mexico pick up the final playoffs spot following their win against Bulgaria and join Australia, Iceland and Turkey in the semifinals. The remaining four teams move onto the 5th-8th placement round. The teams have a rest day today and return on Saturday where Australia take on Mexico in the semifinals.
