The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) have announced that the 2020 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division II Group A has been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. The tournament was scheduled to be held in Zagreb, Croatia from 19 to 25 April 2020 with Australia taking on China, Croatia, Israel, the Netherlands and Spain. The IIHF also cancelled the Division II Group B, Division III Group A and Division III B tournaments as well as the remaining under-18 men’s tournaments. The two Division I tournaments and the World Championship are unaffected by the cancellations so far however the IIHF Council is expected to discuss their status on Tuesday.
