Australians overseas: Darcy Flanagan

Defenceman Darcy Flanagan spent his 2019-20 season playing in the United States and Sweden. Flanagan started the season with the Oklahoma City Jr. Blazers in the Western States Hockey League where he recorded eleven points from 23 games. He then left the United States and joined Frosta HC in the HockeyTrean where he played five games and recorded an assist. Prior to 2019-20 Flanagan has spent the last three seasons playing overseas. In 2016-17 he played for four different teams in the Western States Hockey League and from 2017 to 2019 played junior hockey in Sweden for Tranås AIF and Kallinge/Ronneby IF.

Flanagan is also a member of the AIHL’s Melbourne Ice and has previously played for the Melbourne Mustangs and CBR Brave. He is a former representative of the Australian under-18 and under-20 teams playing in two under-18 World Championships and one under-20 World Championship from 2016 to 2018. In the national championships Flanagan has represented Victoria on multiple occasions in the DeFris, Ginsberg and Tange tournaments.
