The Newcastle Northstars have defeated the Sydney Bears 4–1 in their exhibition game at the Macquarie Ice Rink. The Northstars finish the two game series undefeated having won the first game at the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium. The Bears are back in action tomorrow when they travel to the Central Coast to take on the Central Coast Rhinos at the Erina Ice Arena. The Northstars next game is on 30 April when they host the Melbourne Mustangs in the opening round of the 2022 AIHL season.
