The Melbourne Mustangs have appointed Canadian Chris Lawrence to the position of head coach. Lawrence replaces Steve Zanlunghi who held the position since May 2021. Lawrence has previously worked as a player-assistant coach for the Dundee Stars in the Elite Ice Hockey League during the 2017-18 season. As a player Lawrence was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2005 and has played in the American Hockey League, ECHL, Elite Ice Hockey League and the Ligue Magnus.
