Day 20 of the 2022 Australian Ice Hockey League season has finished with the Sydney Bears defeating the Melbourne Ice while in exhibition play the Newcastle Northstars beat the Brisbane Lightning. The standings remain unchanged with the Brave at the top of the standings, one point clear of the second played Northstars. Competition resumes tomorrow with the Melbourne Mustangs hosting the Bears and the Northstars playing the Lightning in the second exhibition game of their double header.

The game between the Bears and Ice also served as the seventh annual Canada Day Classic which was being held in support of the Alannah & Madeline Foundation. The Bears were awarded the Canada Cup and claimed their second title in a row having won the last edition in 2019.
