Australians overseas 2021-22: United States (part 2)

Continuing our look at the Australian players who were competing overseas during the 2021-22 season. Today is Part 2 of 4 featuring Australians in the United States.

Gunnar Hart: First season with the Potomac Patriots. Playing on their 16 & under AAA team in the United States Premier Hockey League’s 16U division Hart scored six points from 23 games. Hart also competed in seven games for Forest Park/Hylton High in the United States High School, Virginia system where he recorded four points.

Trenton Hart: Fourth season with the Potomac Patriots and third since re-joining the club in 2019-20. Playing in the United States Premier Hockey League’s Premier division Hart served as captain for the club and scored 20 points from his 40 games.

Ethan Hawes: During the season Hawes played for three club in three leagues. In the North American Hockey League Hawes played four games with the Minot Minotauros where he recorded two assists. With his second club Hawes made a brief two game appearance for the Thief River Falls Norskies in the Superior International Junior Hockey League. Rounding out his season Hawes played eight games in the North American 3 Hockey League with the Willmar WarHawks where he posted three assists.

Louden Hogg: First season with the Fargo Force. Playing in the United States Hockey League Hogg posted a 0.894 save percentage and a 3.00 goals against average from 34 games during the regular season. In the playoffs he competed in one game for the club, recording a 0.870 save percentage and a 3.05 goals against average. In February 2022 Hogg announced that he had signed with the College of the Holy Cross to play in the NCAA’s Division I for the 2022-23 season.

Zane Jones: Second season with the Evansville Thunderbolts and first since 2019-20 after a season in Sweden. Playing in the Southern Professional Hockey League Jones recorded 24 points from 42 games.

Bryce Kitching: First season with the Igloo Jaguars. Playing on their 14 & under B team in the Atlantic Hockey Federation’s 14U division Kitching recorded a 0.940 save percentage and a 4.13 goals against average from 20 games. Kitching also played his first season with Paul VI High in the United States High School, New Jersey system where he posted a 0.915 save percentage from four games. Heading into the 2022-23 season Kitching has signed with the Cleveland Barons to play on their 14 & under AAA team in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League’s 14U division.

Connor Lee: Fourth season with the Steele County Blades. Playing in the United States Premier Hockey League’s Premier division Lee scored 31 points from 43 games.

Reece Lukowiak: First season with the Fort Wayne Spacemen. Playing in the United States Premier Hockey League’s Premier division Lukowiak competed in 41 games, scoring 13 points.
