Adelaide Adrenaline
– The Adrenaline have announced that forward Caleb Apperson has left the club in order to begin his 2018-19 season with the Birmingham Bulls of the Southern Professional Hockey League. Apperson played 25 games for the Adrenaline, recording five goals and 17 assists. For more information see the announcement from the club

Adelaide Adrenaline
– The Adrenaline have announced the signing of Canadian Caleb Apperson for the 2018 season. Apperson spent the first half of his 2017-18 season playing for Laurentian University in the U Sports system where he recorded 12 points in 18 games. At the end of February Apperson signed with the Birmingham Bulls of the Southern Professional Hockey League where he currently has four points from 13 games. David Huxley, Sean Greer and Graham Charbonneau have all announced that they will not be playing for the Adrenaline in the 2018 season. For more information see the announcement from the club

CBR Brave
– The Brave have announced the re-signing of Jordon Brunt, Mitchell Henning, Bayley Kubara, and Alex Tétreault
Jayden Lewis has re-signed with the Brave, having last played for the club in 2015. Lewis has spent the last two seasons playing junior hockey in Finland. In the 2017-18 season Lewis played for KaKiPo U20 and PaiHa U20 and currently has 10 points from 21 games.
Dary Flanagan has signed with the Brave having spent last season playing for the Melbourne Ice. The 2018 season will be Flanagan’s third in the AIHL, having previously played for the Mustangs in 2016.

Sydney Bears
– The Bears have re-signed Brian Funes and Jeremy Vasquez for the 2018 season. Funes will return for his third season with the Bears and eighth in the AIHL having previously played for the Ice Dogs from 2011 to 2015. Vasquez returns for his third season with the club. Adelaide Adrenaline
Josef Rezek has re-signed with the Adrenaline for the 2018 season. Rezek will play in his eighth season with the club where he has scored 165 points in 136 games. For more information see the announcement from the club

Melbourne Mustangs
– The Mustangs have signed a deal with restaurant Billy’s District to be their post-game venue for the 2018 season. Billy’s District replaces The James Hotel who had been the clubs post-game venue since May 2016. For more information see the announcement from the club

Sydney Bears
– The Bears have announced the signing of American forward Charlie Adams for the 2018 season. Adams has spent the majority of his 2017-18 season playing for the Pensacola Ice Flyers in the Southern Professional Hockey League where he currently has 45 points from 41 games. Prior to joining the Ice Flyers Adams also had a brief four game stint with EV Lindau in the Oberliga. For more information see the announcement from the club
– The Bears have also announced the re-signing of captain Michael Schlamp and goaltender Anthony Kimlin. Schlamp has recorded 287 points in his 243 games with all but one season being for the Bears. Kimlin returns for his third straight season with the Bears and fifth in the AIHL, having previously played for the Gold Coast Blue Tongues and Sydney Ice Dogs.

Adelaide Adrenaline
– The Adrenaline have announced the signing of Canadian defenceman Alex Adams for the 2018 season. Adams spent the first part of 2017-18 season playing for Wilfrid Laurier University in the U Sports system before signing with the Knoxville Ice Bears of the Southern Professional Hockey League. Sydney Bears
– The Bears have signed Canadian forward Ryan Lough for the upcoming 2018 season. Lough spent the majority of his 2017-18 playing for St. Lawrence University in the NCAA’s ECAC Hockey conference where he has recorded 14 points from 37 games. During the season Lough also competed in one game for the Manchester Monarchs of the ECHL on an amatuer tryout. For more information see the announcement from the club

Other
– The schedule for the upcoming hockey festival has been released. The festival will be played at the O’Brien Group Arena and will involve the Melbourne Ice, Melbourne Mustangs, CBR Brave and Adelaide Adrenaline. For the schedule see the announcement from the Melbourne Ice.

AIHL news: 2 June 2017

League
– The league have made two changes to the June fixture in order to avoid a conflict with the 2017 Ice Hockey Classic. The match between the Sydney Ice Dogs and Newcastle Northstars, originally set for 17 June, has been moved to 16 June. The following weekend the match between the Melbourne Ice and Melbourne Mustangs has been moved from 24 June to 25 June. Fore more information see the schedule on the league website.

Melbourne Mustangs
– The Mustangs have announced the signing of American goaltender James Kruger for the remainder of the 2017 season. Kruger spent the 2016-17 season playing in the Southern Professional Hockey League, lining up for the Fayetteville FireAntz, Pensacola Ice Flyers and Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs. Kruger comes into the team as a replacement for Fraser Carson who is still out due to injury. For more information see the club announcement.

Melbourne Ice & Melbourne Mustangs
– The Ice and Mustangs will compete in a Showcase Charity Event alongside Team Canada and Team USA as part of the 2017 Ice Hockey Classic. The Showcase Event, known as the 2017 Ice Hockey Night in Melbourne, will take place on 22 June 2017 at the O’Brien Group Arena. The Ice will play alongside Team Canada and the Mustangs alongside Team USA in a 4 on 4 exhibition game. For more details see the Melbourne Ice announcement.

Adelaide Adrenaline
– The Adrenaline have announced that goaltender Tyler Steel will not be joining the club for the 2017 season after breaking his hand during the Southern Professional Hockey League playoffs for the Huntsville Havoc. The club is currently working on filling the now vacant import spot. For more information see the announcement from the club.

Adelaide Adrenaline
– The Adrenaline have signed Canadian defencemance Morgan McNeill as their fifth import for the 2017 season. McNeill has spent the 2016-17 season playing for Bouctouche JCs of the North East Senior Hockey League where he recorded 11 points in 27 games. McNeill had original signed with the Adelaide Red Wings to play in the South Australian Premier League however he has been picked up by the Adrenaline while they wait for their goaltender Tyler Steel to finish his season in the Southern Professional Hockey League. Sydney Bears
– The Bears have announced the signing of Canadian defenceman Nick Rivait for the 2017 season. Rivait has spent the 2016-17 season playing for the Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League were he recorded 21 points in 50 games. Adelaide Adrenaline
– The Adrenaline have announced the signing of Canadian goaltender Tyler Steel for the 2017 season. Steel has spent the 2016-17 season playing for the Huntsville Havoc of the Southern Professional Hockey League where he finished the regular season with a 0.914 save percentage from 35 games. Steel will join the club upon the completion of the Havoc’s season which is currently in the second round of the playoffs. For more information see the club announcement.

CBR Brave
– The Brave have announced new and returning sponsors for the 2017 season. Returning sponsors include allinsure, Coordinate, McDonald’s ACT, and Anytime Fitness who has increased their support to be a major sponsor. The clubs new sponsor is the Tuggeranong Hyperdome who comes on as a major sponsor for 2017. The ACT Government and Active Canberra will also continue their support of the National League Team Program.

Perth Thunder
Jamie Woodman will take over the captaincy for the 2017 season. Woodman replaces Sam Wilson in the position who has held it since the club joined the league in 2012. Andrew Cox will return as one of the clubs alternate captains, while Per Daniel Goransson replaces Jordan Kyros as the second alternate captain. For more information see the announcement from club.

Newcastle Northstars
– The Northstars have announced the signing of Canadian forward Steven Kuhn for the 2017 season. Kuhn has spent the 2016-17 season playing for Bisons de Neuilly-sur-Marne of the French Division 1 where he has recorded 20 points in 24 games. For more information see the announcement from the club.

Sydney Bears
– The Bears have announced the signing of Canadian forward Tyler Noseworthy for the 2017 season. Noseworthy has spent the 2016-17 season playing in the Federal Hockey League, Southern Professional Hockey League, and the North East Senior Hockey League. – The Adrenaline have announced the signing of Zachary Boyle for the 2017 season. Boyle spent the 2016 season playing for the CBR Brave where he recorded nine points in 29 games. Boyle previously played for the Adrenaline in the 2014 and 2015 seasons. For more information see the announcement from the club.

Perth Thunder
– The Thunder have announced a partnership with MyLeadPod, an automated business reward program.

Sydney Bears
– The Bears have signed American forward Jackson Brewer for the upcoming 2017 season. Brewer spent the 2016-17 season playing for the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) where he recorded 41 points in 43 games. During the 2015-16 season Brewer spent time at three other SPHL clubs, the Knowville Ice Bears, Huntsville Havoc and Macon Mayhem, and was loaned out briefly out the Evansville IceMen of the ECHL. Sydney Ice Dogs
– The Ice Dogs have announced the signing of Canadian goaltender Damien Ketlo for the upcoming season. Ketlo spent the 2016-17 playing in his fifth season for the University of Lethbridge of the U Sports system, recording a 0.881 save percentage in six games. Prior to joining the University of Lethbridge Ketlo had a brief stint with the Colorado Eagles of the ECHL in the 2011-12 season. For more information see the announcement from the club.
