The East Coast Super League have announced the cancellation of the opening game of their 2023 season. The match was set to be held on 25 March at the Macquarie Ice Rink between the Newcastle Northstars and Reach Rebels. The game has been recorded as a forfeit by the Newcastle Northstars though a reason for the decision was not announced.
