The Brisbane Lightning have announced the signing of Canadian defender Alexis Girard for the upcoming 2023 Australian Ice Hockey League season. During the 2022–23 season Girard has playing in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), first with the Evansville Thunderbolts, then with the Quad City Storm, and is currently part of the Knoxville Ice Bears. Between 2021 and 2022 Girard spent time playing in the ECHL, the Federal Prospects Hockey League and the SPHL.
