The Brisbane Lightning have announced the signing of Hungarian forward Patrik Popovics for the 2023 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Popovics spent 2022 playing for the Brisbane Rampage in the Pacific Hockey League where he scored one goal and five assists from five games. Between 2008 and 2017 Popovics spent nine seasons playing in the MOL Liga, eight with DVTK Jegesmedvék (previously known as Miskolci Jegesmedve JSE) and one with the Vasas Budapest Stars.
