Day 5 of the 2023 Australian Ice Hockey League regular season has finished with the Melbourne Mustangs defeating the Melbourne Ice 7–1 at the O’Brien Icehouse. With their win the Melbourne Mustangs move to the top of the Hellyer Conference, edging out the Sydney Bears, while the Brisbane Lightning remain in first place in the Rurak Conference. The Melbourne Mustangs also take the lead on the league’s combined standings, equal on points with the Brisbane Lightning and Sydney Bears. Competition resumes tomorrow with games in Central Coast, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
