The Newcastle Northstars have added Swedish forward Melker Molund to their roster for the remainder of the 2023 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Molund spent 2022–23 playing for Hässelby Kälvesta on their under-20 team in the J20 Division 1 and their senior team in the HockeyFyran. With Hässelby’s under-20 team Molund competed in 27 games and recorded 44 points and with their senior team he played in five games, scoring four points. More recently Molund has been playing in the East Coast Super League for the Northstars affiliate club where he has scored a goal and two assists from two games.
