Australians overseas 2022-23: Finland

Continuing our look at the Australian players who were competing overseas during the 2022–23 season. Today features Australians in Finland.

Nathaniel Benson: First season in Finland. Playing for Kellokosken Alku in the II-divisioona Benson recorded two goals and six assists from his 13 games.

Bayley Kubara: First season in Finland having spent 2021–22 in Poland. Kubara started his season off with Karhu HT of the Suomi-sarja where he played ten games and recorded two points. He then transferred to Tornion Ice Hockey Club of the II-divisioona where he competed in six games, scoring three points.

Matthew Last: Second season in Finland and first with Rovaniemen Kiekko (RoKi) after spending 2021–22 with Oulun Kärpät’s under-16 team. Playing on RoKi under-18 team in the U18 Mestis Last scored three goals and three assists in his 20 games.

Olivia Last: Fourth season in Finland with Rovaniemen Kiekko (RoKi). Playing in the Naisten Liiga Last posted a save percentage of 0.881 and a goals against average of 5.50 from her 19 games. On 21 April Last signed with Turun Palloseura (TPS) for the 2023–24 Naisten Liiga season.

Jake Riley: First season in Finland. Playing for Kurra Hockey Team in the II-divisioona Riley recorded one goal and four penalty minutes in his four games.
