Brisbane Lightning Women appoint Matthew Meyer as head coach

The Brisbane Lightning Women have appointed Matthew Meyer to the position of head coach ahead of the 2023–24 Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League season. Meyer replaces Tom Harkness who had been in the role since March 2022. Last season Meyer served as one of the club’s assistant coaches along with Jaden Pine-Murphy and Ben Stadtmiller. More recently he has served as a head coach for the Queensland state 15 & under team at the 2023 Kurt Defris National Championship and an assistant coach for the Queensland state 18 & under team at the 2023 Sydney Tange National Championship.
