Ice Hockey NSW have announced the roster for the New South Wales state team which will compete at the 2023 Jim Brown National Championship in November. Compared to New South Wales’ 2022 roster, it includes seven returning players and 17 new signings, while 15 players have been released.
The new players include Gregory Chystyakov, Tyerell Clare, Ethan Hawes, Eugene Ju, Brendan Kleipas, Connor Lee, Matthew Montgomery, Stepan Olkin, Sean Oultram, Hayden Sayers, Josh Secomb, Ethan Spelde, and Thomas Steven. Scott Clemie, Stuart Cole-Clark, Thomas Moncrieff, Jayden Ryan all return to the team having represented New South Wales at the Jim Brown in the past.
The players released are Alan Becken, Mackenzie Bolger, Estefano Bonfante, Luka Dimopoulos, Jakob Doornbos, Ryan Duchemin, Marcus Hosen, Adam Kimbley, Shannon McGregor, Nathan Moncrieff, Nikita Muravev, Daniel Pataky, Ryan Soulliere, Cameron Todd, and Jeremy Vasquez.
In staff changes Ray Sheffield joins as an assistant coach, replacing Lukas Vaic. Stephen Montgomery comes in as team manager, taking over from Craig Tonks who is now serving as the equipment manager.
