Perth Thunder forward Andrew Cox has announced his retirement after ten seasons of playing in the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL). Between 2012 and 2023 Cox competed in 231 AIHL games, recording 82 goals and 108 assists. Cox’s retirement also ends his representative career for the New Zealand men’s national team where he competed at ten World Championships between 2011 and 2023. Cox will remain with the Perth Thunder following his retirement after taking on the role of the club’s general manager.
