Ice Hockey Queensland have announced the sale of the Brisbane Lightning men’s team to Jemsec Investments. The team was founded in February 2022 by Ice Hockey Queensland, in partnership with the Brisbane Buccaneers and the Southern Stars. Jemsec Investments is owned by Julie and Michael Sugden, with Julie Sugden serving as the company’s director. It is currently unclear if the deal will have any impact on the women’s team which compete under the same name.
