The Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League (AWIHL) have announced that neck laceration protection will be mandatory for all players from 13 January 2024. The announcement follows a recent update from Ice Hockey Australia which had outlined their immediate too long terms steps for the rollout of the new measures. The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) also recently mandated the use of neck laceration protection for all levels of IIHF competition.
