2024 Men’s U20 World Championships: Australia loses to Serbia and finishes fourth

The Australian men’s national under-20 team have lost 0–4 to the Serbian men’s national under-20 team in their final game of the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division II Group B tournament in Belgrade, Serbia. The IIHF award for best Australian player of the match was given to defender Mikko Rippon.

In the other games of the day Romania shutout Belgium 4–0 and Iceland defeated Chinese Taipei 9–4. Australia finishes the tournament in fourth place with six points from five games. Romania finishes in first and earns promotion back to Division II Group A for 2025, while Chinese Taipei comes in last and is relegated to Division III Group A for next season. The IIHF award for best Australian player of the tournament was given to goaltender Matus Trnka.
