2024 Men’s U18 World Championships: Australia defeats Bulgaria and finishes fourth

The Australian men’s national under-18 team have defeated the Bulgarian men’s national under-18 team 3–1 in their final game of the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship Division II Group B tournament in Puigcerda, Spain. Hugh Campbell, Ruben Nalos, and Mac Tutton all scored a goal each, with all three players picking up their first goal in international competition at the same time. The IIHF award for best Australian player of the match was given to forward Ivan Kuleshov.

In the other games of the day Chinese Taipei defeated Israel 5–3 and China beat Spain 8–2. Australia finishes the tournament in fourth place with seven points from five games. China finishes in first and earns promotion to Division II Group A for 2025, while Israel comes in last and is relegated to Division III Group A for next season. The IIHF award for best Australian player of the tournament was given to captain Lachlan Sucher.
