2019 U18 World Championships: Australia lose to China

The Australian men’s national under-18 team have lost 2-4 to China in their third game of the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship Division II Group B. In other games of the day Croatia beat Belgium 7-2 and the Netherlands defeated Serbia 2-1 in overtime. After the end of third round Australia remain in fifth place on the standings while China has moved up into first place. The teams have a rest day today and return on Saturday where Australia will take on Belgium. The two teams last met in 2017 at the World Championship Division II Group B tournament where Australia won 5-1.

China beat Australia U18

The Australian men’s under-18 team have lost their second game of the 2015 IIHF U18 World Championship Division II Group B tournament, losing 1-8 to China. Lynden Lodge was named best Australian player of the game. In other games of the day Romania defeated Belgium 10-1 and Spain beat Serbia 2-0. After the end of Round 2 Australia has dropped down to fifth place, five points behind leaders Romania and Spain. Competition resumes tomorrow after todays rest day with Australia taking on Spain.
