The Sydney Ice Dogs have announced the signing of Canadian forward Alex Macdonald for the upcoming 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Macdonald has spent the 2023–24 season playing for Bélougas de Toulouse-Blagnac in the FFHG Division 2 where he recorded nine goals and seven assists from eleven games. Between 2014 and 2024 he has spent time playing in the British Columbia Hockey League, FFHG Division 2, Maritime Junior Hockey League, National Collegiate Development Conference, and the U Sports system.
